“ What a fricken Gem! This place is a dive bar. Self proclaimed best dive bar in SA for like 30 years! The food was fantastic. My wife ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. I had spicy meatballs. The cook came out and apologized. She said that she had just taken the bread (Texas Toast) out of the oven and it was too hot to cut. Our order was going to take longer than expected. No worries I'll wait for fresh bread. Glad we did, the sandwich was fantastic, full of cheese. The meatballs came with a slice of the same bread. I spoke to some people a little later at another bar and 5 people all chimed in with, "The food there is incredible". The Bartender and the owners were friendly as can be. Thank you Oak Hill Tavern! ”
“ This is definitely one of the chiller neighborhood bars Ive been to! They had a nice pool table and ambiance. Everyone I spoke to, from the bartender Leanna to the karaoke mc to just other patrons, were SO nice. The karaoke guy was fun and engaging, i enjoyed his set up a lot. The bartender Leanna was SUCH a dream omg. Quick service great pours for beer (a lot of people fuck up beer pours unfortunately) excellent mixed drinks She’s funny, approachable and all around a great conversationalist. All qualities you WANT to see in your bartender. I watched her have in depth conversations with almost everyone sitting at the bar, I think the only exception was a dude staying to himself. All in all, for a bar I’d never been to especially alone, this was a 10/10. I plan to come back for Leanna AND karaoke. ”
“ Oak Hills certainly lives up to its name as the “Best damn dive bar in SA”. Leanna the bartender was so attentive to all her guests and provided great hospitality. She’s a great conversation and super nice! She truly takes the time to get to know her customers and build solid relationships with them. The karaoke was so much fun. The food is quite excellent. I recommend the burger with a Typhoon Gabe. Never ever had a bad experience at this establishment. Shout out to Monica as well for always being welcoming and taking care of her customers. Yvette is amazing herself. All three are wonderful ladies who will make you feel at home because that’s what oaks is to me. It’s my 2nd home. Keep up the amazing work. ”
“ Stopped in after work for a cold beer, service was very prompt and polite. After seeing a couple plates come out, I was impressed and decided to eat. The "Mess of fries" was phenomenal and the OHT burger was fresh and juicy. Presentation was amazing. Highly recommended! ”
“ Hidden gem in San Antonio!! If you’re looking for amazing food, great atmosphere, and superb customer service look no further! We were lucky to find this place and Chef Milas!! The food was excellent! Started with the chicharrones/pork rinds that were made fresh and were literally still popping as we ate them at our table! They were not greasy at all and had amazing flavor. Definitely try the hot Cheeto breaded shrimp tacos!! I was very tempted to order another round! The Jamaican taco was also really good. Last but not least the burger was so fresh and flavorful! We’re already planning our next trip with a group of friends to enjoy the shuffle board, pool table, juke box, and drinks! Definitely an experienced bar tender. Mixed drinks didn’t disappoint!! Can’t wait to come back!! ”
“ Really loved this place! I’d been here a few times before over the years but it’d been a while. Last came to see my friend Miss Rosalie (check her out in Spotify/Apple Music) perform along with some other cool indie bands. Cool spot with plenty of inside & outside seating, fun music, fast bar service, and great pickle shots! Also 10/10 recommend the “chicken lollipops” (smoked bbq chicken ) ”
“ So happy to have found this spot. It’s a little dive bar with an awesome patio. The bartender was doing an awesome job of taking care of everyone. We came during happy hour when they have 1 off draft beers. They were smoking their own pork so I had to try that in taco form, it was quite good. We also tried the pretzel stick, jerk taco, and pork adovado taco. Everything was really good. ”
